Subscription & Access

  • There is no key to enter. Your subscription unlocks the app
  • Both plans start with a 7-day free trial
  • An internet connection is needed to install and to confirm your subscription
  • A Mac App Store subscription covers your Macs, a Microsoft Store one covers your Windows computers

Installation

  • Start from the pricing page and pick your store
  • Windows: Install from the Microsoft Store, Windows 10 or later
  • Mac: Install from the Mac App Store, macOS 13 or later

New Computer

  • Install SetShaper from the same store on the new computer
  • Sign in with the store account that holds your subscription
  • Copy your project folders across and open them as normal

Billing & Receipts

  • Billing is handled by Apple or Microsoft, not by us
  • Manage or cancel any time in your Apple Account or Microsoft account
  • Receipts come from the store you subscribed through
  • We don't process refunds, so use the free trial and cancel any time

Data & Backups

  • All data is stored locally on your computer
  • Use File > Back Up Project to create backups
  • We recommend backing up regularly to an external drive or cloud storage of your choice

Bug Reports

  • Found a bug? Email us with steps to reproduce
  • Include your OS, SetShaper version, and screenshots if possible
  • We aim to respond to all reports within 48 hours

Is SetShaper the app that used to be called FilmBase Studio?

Yes. FilmBase Studio is now called SetShaper. SetShaper has new listings on the Mac App Store and the Microsoft Store, so install it from there and start a new subscription; a FilmBase Studio subscription doesn't carry over. If you still had one, email [email protected] and we'll help. Your projects open as before: the first time you open SetShaper, it moves your projects, templates and rate cards from the Filmbase folders in Documents to a SetShaper folder, and renames project files from .filmbase to .setshpr.
